How Do You Encourage Others in Healing? The Power of Safe Communities and Shared Strength

Jul 21, 2021

I have a question: How do you encourage others in their healing?

As the world evolves, more and more people are sharing their past and present traumas, dis-eases and unspoken complexities.

When such topics are shared, it is imperative each individual has a trusted community to express their hurts, setbacks, vulnerabilities, and victories. It is important to support one another in the daunting process of growing through situations of dismay whether it be wars within the workplace, an uncomfortable encounter, grief over gratitude, or internal disruption.

Greenhouses of Grace: Encouragement Through Community

To highlight the courageous efforts of such communities, I recently received the honor of writing a blog on behalf of Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month also known as Black, Indigenous, & People of Color (BIPOC) Mental Health Month for the She Recovers® Foundation. With Strength in Communities serving as the theme, I emphasized the Greenhouses of Grace in my life and how they can benefit others.

Fun fact: I took this photo of myself with the full intent of using it as an author profile. It's on my to-do list!

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, the valiant villages we visit tend to our innermost selves—for the better.

For this, I am grateful.

How do you promote others in their day-to-day struggles? How have others encouraged you?

Until next time ... Joyous Journey.
