How We Pour Into Each Other: A Reflection on Support and Spiritual Reciprocity

I have a question: How do people pour into you? How do you pour into others?

(Okay, that’s two questions … haha!)

When People Pour Into You With Purpose

There is no doubt in my mind our paths cross different personalities for different reasons. Some meet us on the road of encouragement, others gather at the fork of our life lessons, while few serve as the monumental messenger. Nonetheless, we receive nourishment from each personality with an unexpected purpose.

Girlfriend, spiritually full looks good on you ... !

For me, intimate relationships include friendships to kinships and partnerships — each providing a benefit of immense support. When others pour into me while I’m spiritually full, my cup overflows. Just as when my cup is half full, my thirst is quenched with God’s grace and the dependability of those who genuinely care for my well-being. Their encouragement, laughter, wisdom, and unfiltered love press me towards and through another day.

The Gift of Pour Into Others

On the other hand, pouring into others is refreshing, rejuvenating — a spiritual revival of sorts. A selfless service. It provides me an opportunity to promote others, meet them at the undefined fork, and whisper a much-needed message. I get to pour into others as I pour into my Self.

For this, I am grateful.
